Your first point of contact for children's services in the region
Serving children and families in Maine's Washington and Hancock Counties
February 3, 2012 is Sugar Out Day for all of Washington County.
The Washington County Children's Program serves children with special needs and their families, as well as "typical" families. Since 1975 the Children's Program has been a primary resource in this region of Maine for families who have a child with autism, Asperger's, behavioral issues, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and other special needs. Therapy can be provided at home, in a typical preschool setting, or in one of our special-purpose programs.
All of our work at WCCP is strengths-based and family-centered. That means we help children and families build on their successes. We believe that parents and caregivers are the primary teachers for their children, and we assist them in acquiring the skills to help their children in typical settings.
